Janet Hansel brings over three decades of experience in philanthropy and the nonprofit sector to her role on the Haury Donor-Advised Fund Board. As founder and Managing Consultant of Grant Street Consulting, she partners with foundations, nonprofits, and higher education institutions to strengthen impact through strategy, evaluation, and storytelling.

A specialist in Ripple Effects Mapping (REM) and qualitative evaluation, Janet helps organizations uncover intended and unintended outcomes of their work, fostering learning and collaboration. Prior to launching her consulting practice, she served for 15 years as Chief Impact Officer at the Community Foundation of Tompkins County (NY), where she led grantmaking, community engagement, and special initiatives.

Janet holds a Master of Public Administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University and a B.S. in Social Work from the Rochester Institute of Technology. Based in Tucson, Janet’s work supports the belief that lasting change grows from relationships that connect people, place, and purpose.
