UArizona Pascua Yaqui Tribe Micro Campus

As a part of the its strategic plan initiative to better serve Native American communities, the University of Arizona committed to developing micro-campuses in Native nations. In this first phase, the university signed an agreement with Pascua Yaqui Tribe to help tribal members access higher education and workforce training programs more efficiently. Regents Professor and Faculty Co-Chair of Indigenous Peoples Law and Policy Program, Robert A. Williams Jr., and Senior Vice President for Native American Advancement and Tribal Engagement, Nathan Levi Esquerra, worked together to make this possible.

Haury Program is honored to had been able to partially support the establishment of this UArizona Pascua Yaqui Tribe Micro Campus by providing funding to design architectural and design elements of the micro-campus, which measures almost 5,000 sq. feet. The micro-campus is located at the former TUSD Hohokam Middle School Building adjacent to the reservation. The space includes a library, offices, and meeting rooms. The Haury Program award helped furnish the area, including student desks, rolling chairs, office desks and chairs, and cabinets for the two administrative offices.
